About ME

My name is David Conway, and I’ve been fascinated by games for as long as I can remember, but what really pulled me into development was wanting to understand how they worked. That curiosity, combined with a love of problem-solving, eventually led me towards game development, programming, and later virtual reality.

I started focusing on VR while studying Computer Science, just as consumer VR was beginning to take off. After college, I joined a small VR tourism and training company, where I spent more than four years working primarily with Unity. Being the main developer on a small team meant getting involved in almost every technical part of a project from interaction systems and physics to shaders, content management, multiplayer, and deployment.

A lot of that work targeted standalone VR hardware, so performance was never an afterthought. I gained extensive experience profiling and optimising applications, managing limited hardware resources, and finding practical solutions when a project needed to run smoothly on devices like the Meta Quest and Pico.

Since then, I’ve continued expanding my skills across Unity and real-time development. I enjoy figuring out how things work, building systems that make other people’s jobs easier, and tackling the kinds of technical problems that don’t always have an obvious solution.
